In general, this varies by school. For example, a former employer of mine stuck all athletes whose parents didn't object into either Criminal Justice or Distributive Education, because they could be assured of remaining eligible to play by "cooperative" department chairs. I've often heard negatives about Education, Communication, and Recreation this way, but I can think of some outstanding graduates from each of those majors.

I don't think any major is for losers :) A liberal arts degree, for example, is no doubt easier to obtain than a hard science degree, but it is nonetheless a well-rounded education. If one looks at a college education not as a ticket to a high-paying job but as four years of thinking and learning, than it is never a waste.

At my college, kids who are only in college to avoid joing the workforce (and yes there are people like that) are all communications majors. My advisor says that the University is actually rather ashamed of the Communications department because of this.

The fact that you are going to college and not wasting your time assures that no major is for losers, it is what you want to do with your life.

any degree you are pursuing will require studying and work if you want to do well and earn good grades. but if you are attempting a college degree of any kind you are not a loser, bc a loser would just not go and try to make something better for themselves.

No offense to anybody, but the communications majors were never very highly regarded at my college.

But...if you are in college, than you are not a loser anyhow.
