1. A mini fridge and a microwave - don't rent them from the school, just buy them, they are super cheap and you can use them when you move out of the dorms.
2. A rug, if you will have hard floors, so that you don't have to step on freezing linoleum when you get out of bed.
3. All the clothes you will be wearing, all your shower stuff, etc. Bring flip flops for the community showers.
4. A computer
5. Bedding. Most dorms have extra long twin mattresses. Your school will send out a form to order extra long sheet sets, but if you don't want to look like everyone else, you can buy sheets from stores like Target, which have a lot of extra long sets in the summer for you dorm people.
6. Towels, and a laundry bag or basket. Also, quarters, if your dorm's laundry room needs them.
7. Whatever else you use on a regular basis.
