I live in California and would like to become an x-ray tech. What classes or school do you go to? Does a Jr. (Comm. College) have those classes?

You can find schools here: http://jrcert.org/cert/Search.jsp
Choose Radiography for type of program, select California, and search.

hi...I just graduated from an xray program. Most junior colleges offer them. Just start visiting online to junior colleges in your are and see if you can find somthing on Xrays. If you do not find anything on their website, call the school and ask them. They might not have it posted.

And just a word of advice...do not use the term xray technician. We hate that. We prefer being call Radiologic Technologist. It is a more professional saying. Thats is you are going to a 2 year school.

I went to a 2 year school, but I had to do some prereqs before I got in. so actually it might be more than a couple of years. It is well worth the wait.

Also good money in the field. I have not found a job yet. I am still looking, but the salary in Texas is like 39,000 starting out, and maybe more depending where you work.

Im sure California will pay like 50,000 a year because the cost of living. Good luck.
