I have 2 400 level classes that I need to graduate. They were not offered in Spring of 07, and will not be offered in Fall of 07. I know most people suggest that you petition the dean, but is there actually any laws that restrict schools from doing this? I live in PA if that info is needed.

Like if the very last term you had for your undergrad was the worst term you had in 2 years and you got all B-'s?

I assume that the standard path is an undergraduate liberal arts degree and then a masters degree in library science? I had the impression that one wouldn't get an undergraduate library science degree.
If so, what should one get their undergrad degree in? Is there usually a preference?

I am a British citizen who has never really lived in the UK, having grown up and lived in Asia most of my life. I am in my late twenties now and wondering if I am better suited to an academic career.

I have an undergraduate business degree from an American university and a (taught) Master's in the social sciences. I am interested in Asia-focused economics, political economy and area studies programmes.

I've met people who are PhD students in the UK, but somehow manage to live here in Hong Kong and even work full time. This is very appealing to me, as I have numerous contacts and a steady girlfriend here. Are UK PhD programmes largely based on coursework that can be completed anywhere?

Can anyone explain just how much time I would actually be required to spend at the university itself? Also, how difficult is it to obtain financial assistance?

I am a high school junior and am trying to figure out what science to take next year.

I have taken:
Physical Science w/ lab
Biology w/out lab
Historical Geology w/ lab

I would really like to take another geology course senior year instead of physics or chemistry. How would this look to fairly competitive colleges?

I don't hate math, i just suck at it. I really like science though. I always enjoy science classes at my high school, especially biology and chemistry. So now I don't know what college major to do because almost all science majors have a lot of math in them.

I have been attending community colleges for about 4 years ever since I dropped out of a university because of low grades, and since then have continued the pattern of dropping/failing classes. Overall I have most of my general education complete, but since I have failed/dropped out of so many classes I have an extremely low G.P.A.(below 2.0) and therefore am not able to transfer back to a 4 year state university. I'm really sick of community colleges and need to get myslef in some sort of university, but am not sure what to do with such a low GPA. I thought about reapplying to a private institution all over again with just my high school grades and starting fresh, but I will have to retake a lot of classes that i have already passed. Is there any way I can transfer to a university without staying at community college??

I have ambitions for the future and I want to get a general view of whats coming up for me in the next few years (im a freshman). Besides competing in competitions that relate to my ambitions, I want to know what else to do to get into such schools, and what kind of GPA I will need. I'd also like to know a few experiences from some people who have managed to get into these schools during their college years, or people who are in these schools now.

I am a freshman in college my first semester GPA is just a 3.0 and I want to become a doctor. Do I still have a chance to becoming a doctor? My major right now is mathematics because when I entered college I just choose that because I love math but now I want to become a doctor. What major should I choose because my college does not have a pre-med course. Also do I have a chance to get into med. school since i just have a 3.0. What does your GPA have to be to have a good chance to get into med. school?

alright, l'm a sophomore in Highschool I'm 16 years old and My friends cousins go to the local college and can get my friend (who already has been) and me in to it. I've never really been to a high school party with alcohol much less a college one. I want to go, but I would have to lie to my mom if I did.. and thats why I'm hestitating I know what I should do but then what I want to do! Anyway, what would you do? I would have to say II am 18.. but then again don't all teens at somepoint go to some party and lie to parents Idk why I'm having a hard time with this.. If I don't plan to drink or anything is it wrong. idk if I told my mom the truth I don't think she would let me go. I don't care if i got caught and got grounded or anything BUT i care about lying to her... what am I suppose to do. I want to go I've never ever been.
