I wanna know that is there a difference between veterinary medicine and veterinary science?? I've seen universities offering either vet med or vet science. Are they the same thing with different names? Or only the ones with a veterinary medicine degree can be a veterinarian??

Is this common? I asked my friend about it and she said that they pick at random who is chosen for fall and winter. Has anyone experienced this? Or does anyone know the reason why this happened?

I am currently a pre-Pharmacy student in the process of transferring to another institution that does not offer a pre-Pharmacy major. I am in my third year of undergraduate study, and plan to earn a degree before becoming accepted to Pharmacy or Medical school.
My question is, what would be a good choice for an undergraduate major if I want to get accepted to a professional program within the next 2 years? I have taken several chemistry, biology, and math courses that concur with most pre-pharmacy course requirements.
Thanks for any and all helpful suggestions, I appreciate it.

I teach at a Korean University, (conversation english) and sometimes get "specially talented atheletes" in my class.

The University policy is that they get a "reasonable passing grade," even if they never come to class, and fail all exams.

This is a carryover from Korean high schools, and I think it is unethetical to give them anything other than F.

Some won't even bother to buy a textbook. The atheletes know we have to give them "B" or 80 % so they just don't care about attendance or how they do on theexam, (if they show up)

Haven't American Universities done away with this giveaway?

What are your thoughts.

I hate giving them B's.

I went to a university and graduated back in May of 2005. Since then I've had three jobs, two of which I was paid 7.50 or less, and two out of the three jobs had me being laid off.

I'm 25, I can't find a good job, and I still live with my parents. I'm pretty upset at myself because I wasted my time and my parents money on getting a degree. Sure there are some people that are going to say college is worth it. But let's face reality, getting a college degree now a days means nothing. And plus, I've read a lot of people on here who did graduate college who can't find jobs or are working just to get by and aren't making good money.

A bachelors degree means bull now a says. There are people with degrees who are working for next to nothing at places like Walmart or they're waiting tables at some place, or working retail.

I'm pretty much down on the ground and struggling, which I thought I wouldn't be doing since I did graduate college.

So is college really worth it?

Can you convince me into going to UCSC? I have to decide if I should leave Southern California [a place I love and currently live in now] to go to university in Santa Cruz. I've never been to Santa Cruz and I don't think I can visit there before the May Register deadline. So I essentially need your help.

Questions to answer:
How is the weather over there?
Good city for family/parents?
Cheap/expensive?
How are the people there?
Life changing experiences?
Fair academic programs?
Housing?

This is much appreciated!! Thank you!

re-apply to the business program when I can continue with class, will they just accept me?

To get into the program I had to take two written essays. Would I have to do all that again, or once admitted do all I have to do is say that I am able to take classes again? Please help with answer. I don't think I could go through applying to the entire business program again.

I am confused... some people told me I need to take the GMAT to get into the MBA program but one of my professors said I could just take the GRE... can someone help me clear this up? I think the difference is that the GMAT is required for the MBA but only the GRE for other Master's programs like Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
