It's possible that you have a "search utility" program installed on your computer (probably spyware.) Some common ones are Home Search Assitant, Shopping Wizard, CoolWebSearch and WordClick.

Go to your Control Panel and click Add/Remove Programs. Hopefully, you will find it listed and you can safely and easily remove it.

If, however, your browser has been "hijacked" it may be more difficult to remove. For an example of how to remove such programs see: http://www.short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?p=172774#post172774

It depends on why it is underlining the words. It could be underlining them because they are misspelled. If you don't want it to do that, you'd have to change your settings. But if it's underlining people's names, and certain places, it's because you can click on the underlined word and it will give you the definition. Ex: "We drove President Carter to the election polls in Georgia." So "President Carter" might be underlined, along with "Georgia." You should be able to click on them just like a link (which is actually what it is) and it will take you to the definition of that word. I wouldn't get rid of it unless it really, really bugs you, it can come in handy sometimes. And you'll get used to it, especially once you know why it's underlining those words.

if it underlines certain words on your notes that is to say you should check the spellings of those words. it probably has to do with the variations in settings between your home and your school computer. your school pc has problably been set to ignore errors in spellings.

It sounds like your keyboard needs a vacation :)

There is a button called "Insert". Press it and things should go back to normal. It's really an obsolete (outdated) key that should no longer exist.

Go to TOOLS in your web browser and go through your settings to say whether or not you want to link certain words.
