In present cenario majority of the science student don`t want to choose rsearch as a career. Those who choose as a career they migrate to other country for higher research. This attitude damage the quality of research in India.

Hey everyone I am currently a first year student going to UCSB and am planning to major in some type of biology degree in plans of going to med school. The thing is I dont like science and I really want to change my major for next quarter. I would like to do a major such as Psychology or Sociology but I have heard those are somewhat useless degees unless you get into law school or something. The thing is Ive been told the only useful degrees are engineering degrees and biology degrees for med school. I am kinda at a loss cuz i am hating my second quarter of chemistry but I really like my 2nd psychology class I am taking. I don't know what I should do, any suggestions?

I want to attend The University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA because they have a prepharm program right out of highschool. This year as a sophmore I took chemistry because I know this is one of the main sciences in the study of pharmacy. So now that it is time for registration for next years classes I need to know the science class I should take. But for next year(junior year) I have two choices. Either contine with chemistry in the AP chem class or go to a course offered at my school, physiology, which is the study of physical and biochemical functions of living organisms which is related to pharmacy. So for being admitted into a prepharm program at a University do you think they would rather see a AP chemistry class even though I already took Chemistry I, or physiology. So just give me in your opinion what class I should take next year. Also in your opinion what is the easiest and what is the hardest from physics, AP Chem, or physiology.

Thanks

Does anybody here go to Simpson University? I would like more information about the school than I can find on their website, and I was thinking of maybe applying there. Since they're a private, non UC system school, I can't find a list of needed high-school credits to be accepted. Is there somewhere I can find these?

I am approximately two years away from finishing my college degree, I have one semester left followed by a full year and an additional semester, putting me one semester behind graduating in four years! It will also add another 40,000 dollars to the amount someone will one day paying back to Sallie Mae!!! I have really wanted to join the air force to serve my country, learn a skill, meet new people and travel before I settle down in my civilian lifestyle and hopefully start a family! My question is how hard is it to finish your degree while in the Air Force and how long will it take? Or is it perhaps better to join after graduating(I don't want to be an officer) and serve my country travel work in something that supports the mission of the air force, and use tuition assistance and my GI bill to get my MBA while enlisted? I mostly want to know how long it takes to finish your degree, and from the outside looking in which is most beneficial?

I'm a second-year student at a university, but I'm a junior credits-wise. I'm sick of it. I don't know what I want to do with my life. Basically I'm wasting time. If I change my major to kinesiology I can graduate in two semesters and a couple of summer sessions, but I don't really care about kinesiology, or any other major. My passions are my hobbies- triathlons, climbing, reading, crosswords, yoga, whittling. I think that as long as I had a job that I liked ok and that paid enough for me to get by, I would be content. Is it really worth it to stay in college and get that degree? Especially since I won't necessarily be graduating with a degree I'll use? Would it be unwise to quit this and do a short, vocational program to become an LPN or CNA, for instance? The other factor, and the only reason my parents think i should stick it out, is that I have almost a full scholarship to my school. Should I graduate with a degree I may or may not use, or go ahead with vocational training?

One of the UC selection factors is the "strength of the senior year course load."I want to show them that I am not taking the year off and that I am serious about my studies but I want to take some "fun classes" so I don't "fry my brain." I plan on applying to UCI, UCLA, and UCSD and I have over a 4.0 GPA counting 10th and 11th grades.
Classes to choose from: (I have to take a course in english and American Democracy/Economics. my school schedule can fit five classes)
1. AP English Literature or regular English
2. AP American Government/Economics, regular government/economics, or online gov./econ
3. AP Environmental Science
4. Physiology
5. Marine Science
6. Advanced Ceramics(one semester)
7. AP Art History
8. AP European History
9. Sociology(one semester)
10. school newspaper.
I am also planning to take a UC-transferable calculus course at a community college after school.

I was wondering if this idea was "realistic."

I have unfortunately never been to a formal college. I have though, been to a business college and have an Associate's Degree for Administration. My q is to all you college students is...

Would you be willing to pay someone to type a paper for you?

Im a single mom, working as a paralegal. But on the brink of making big decisions in my life, Im worried that I may not be making enough money. And this... is an alternative way to asking for a raise! Lol. Anyways, I need to make extra cash on the side and have no idea how.

If this isn't good and you have any other "ideas" please let me know.

If any of you throw out something about eBay, please explain what that is... Im not an eBayER! Heheh

Thank you all very much.
