I am a senior in college majoring in psychology. Upon graduation my GPA will likely not be any higher than 3.0. I know I am intelligent and can handle intense work, just a lot of things got in the way during my undergrad work. So far, I haven't done any extracurricular activities and I have almost no work experience. I plan to start an atheist student organization on campus and to do a research project of some sort in psychology.
In addition to these things, what can I do to really impress the admissions board at a law school despite all my weaknesses? The gem of my eye is Duke Law School even though it is extremely hard to get in. Please help!!!

Expected GPA: 3.0
Time left: 2 semesters
Expected LSAT: 160+

Hi everyone. I am so confused as to what to major in. I love so many things but this year is very critical to me. I want to be able to get a better paying job with a Bachelor Degree (I have no problem getting a Masters but I'd rather not HAVE to have one) and I'm not sure if Criminal Justice or Marriage and Family therapy is the best one to go. Which one will pay better?

Serious answers only. Thank you so much.

I have a degree in Theater, but have been working in business for 20 years. My companies undergone major changes, and frankly I just hate the corporate world! I would like to teach now at either a high school or college, but I'm thinking I may be to old to change streams now!

My family and I have moved into a town near Boston. My child had asked for German I and Chemistry. They did not let him have Chemistry for some reason, and German was not available. So; they put him in Italian, which isn't much of a challenge to him since he already speaks Spanish. Instead of chemistry; they put him in an intro to science.

Now; he wasted a whole year in an intro to science which he could have used to get rid of the prerequisites for AP Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. He is really wasting his time with Italian since he really loves German.

He talked to a person who supposedly helps with classes. She said it's too bad since it doesn't matter what classes he had been put in; mistake or not. He can only either waste time in college trying to get rid of those (like he should have in high school); or take courses online (which will just overload him with work and take time)

Should I go to the school board and complain? What can they do? Any laws? Loopholes?

I'm taking a graduate level course for a Ph.D., and the class was given a research paper assignment wherein we had to defend or reject the notion that paradigms influence scientific research. I did what I thought was a very half-assed job at it, I mean, REALLY just phoning it in, so to speak, but I did make sure all my words were properly spelled, verbs and subjects agreed in tense, etc. I thought for sure I was done for...

Got an email from my professor this morning, saying "Your essay really brightened an otherwise bad morning. For the first time in a long time, I have a student that can write logically, creatively, and interestingly."

Makes me scared to think how bad the other students wrote! Is writing a lost art?

Hi,
I am a little bit confused if I am on the right track.
I have BS in Computer Science - GPA 2.954
Now I am in Grad school for MS in Information Systems about to graduate with GPA 3.53.

I am currently employed as IT Project Manager; previously I was working as a computer programmer... So, not much law experience.

Recently I was working on my own IT project and got interested in Intellectual Property law… Sort of liked the direction of the field and things that can be achieved…

So now I am preparing for my June LSAT… I believe I could get 150 for sure and may be 155… I have based my grade assumptions by my Kaplan LSAT test results which is 138( I came w/o any knowledge of a test, just was passing one day by Kaplan…saw flyer and decided to take a test…) After discovering what test is about , I think that I can do 150-155…hopefully :-) Now I am on Kaplan LSAT program....

Given my background, GPA and totally unrelated (to law) work experience.
Do you think that I have any chances to get into good law school?
I welcome any views. Do you know any one from similar background who went to law school? Does it possible to get to law school without any direct experience in law? It takes a lot of time to prepare for LSAT- I am able to provide it, but does it worth in my situation?

I am wondering if people fesh out of high school are mature enough to make decisions about their future (i.e. their major, what college or university they attend, what classes they will take, where they will live). In my experience, college is a rough place with many chances for error in judgment to occur. So... do you think recent high school graduates are well-qualified to make important decisions affecting their future? What would better qualify them for making decisions about their future?

Hey there are these 3 or 4 guys in my finance class who know a lot about the stock market and how it works. They are at the same level as I am but some how they have an aptitude for this stuff. I love finance and I want to know these things to. how do you think thye know so much without taking extra classes. They grasp things faster, they have questions about how the thing taught in class could work in the market. They are college kids...they don't read books for pleasure...do they? I read teh news every now and then but still how do they have this knowledge? Am I just slow or something? I have done really well in other similar courses but those were easier than this one. But its getting to me how these ppl know more and contribute more than I can think. Any advice on how to get ahead of the curve?

What is the value of a UOP Degree. Would an MBA mean much of anything. I've heard that it is not an accredited business program, and that putting it on your resume may actually be counterproductive. What is the truth?

Which one of the following three kinds of entertainment do you think would be the best for a 13-year old boy?Discuss with your group which would be the best and explain your choice.

(i)seeing movies (ii)singing karaoke (iii)playing TV games

You may want to talk about:
● How much it costs
● Why it would be suitable for a 13-year-old boy
● What boys often like and why
● Anything else you think is important
