Playing soccer or game of your choice.
I think all the choices are bad. Inactive, sitting around, and practicing more or less passive acceptence of consumer behavior?
Karaoke is least bad. At least it requires activity, is better done in a group, and practices dealing with "publicity". Having them supply the music (the percussion part would be real easy and cheap) would be even better.

My vote is for karaoke, because it's more active than seeing movies, and it can be fast-- some video games take forever before someone else gets a turn, but with karaoke, most songs are only about 3 minutes. Plus, it's funny.

I see nothing wrong with any of the 3 choices, so long as the 13 yr old has an interest in them.
Movies must be age appropriate, of course.
Kareoke must be supervised, or not in a bar at night.
Games also should be age appropriate.
