I got accepted at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield and am considering going there. Is this a wise decision? How is the surrounding environment and school overall?

Sacred Heart University isn't all that well known, but it is a decent school that should provide a positive learning environment.

You may want to stay overnight in the dorms and meet with a few professors before you make a final decision to see if it aligns with your goals.

From all you have said it sounds like you would be happier at Stonybrook. Stonybrook has a better reputation than Sacred Heart, it is a research 1 university (so there will be more opportunities). When you throw in that they have the major you want and it is less expensive, you should be happy. You can always make a large university feel smaller through involvement in groups and clubs and your department (you can't make a small college feel bigger). I started off at a small college and HATED it. I transfered to a large university and LOVED it. It was so much more intellectually stimulating and there were always great things goin on. DA

I just visited sacred heart and LOVE IT! It is super easy to get around, have nice dorms and pretty good food. Also, the professors are really there for you. If you have any questions, let me know! You won't regret going there, my cousin is a senior there and doesn't want to leave!
