Hello~ I am a international student from HK. I have applied Communication B/A of several UCs (undergraduate Fall2007) as a transfer student from CA community college. My current GPA is 3.77; I got As in all my major prep course, as well as required English and Maths courses. I also have relevant working experiences in the field. However, I did not enroll in Honor class. ( TAP), will that be a disadvantage for my application to UCLA?

Thank You !

I have a 3.1 grade average as of now (i'm a junior, just entering my 2nd semester). I do have a lot of good extra-curriclars though and i would like to attend a liberal arts college, either here in the Northeast or California. What colleges would you recommend?

I have no idea what I want to major in yet, english or sociology maybe.

Also my SAT II scores were really good and I go to a private school that carries a lot of weight when appyling to colleges.

I'm torn between two majors right now. I'm planning to start college in the fall. I absolutely love writing. I've known thats what I wanted to do with my life ever since I was a preteen. However, people keep telling me that majoring in wriitng isn't a pass to becoming a popular novelist. I get that but I just want to be better at the craft I feel passion for. However, I do love the idea of anthropology. Social sciences tends to be more "practical" than arts but I don't want to waste four years just because people tell me I won't be able to make a living with my writing degree.

While attending medical school, did any of you live with parents or family without working? Or were you able to afford your own place while in medical school?

I have no idea, is 4.0 = 100% and 3.0 = 75%? or is it something totally different.

In my country the max you can get is 20, and 10 is the passing mark. My undergraduate average was exactly 17. Is that a 3.4 GPA?

I am in the process of applying for transfer to another university from my current one, and I'm stressing over my admission essay at that moment. I would like to ask my English Comp professor if she could revise my draft for me, but I don't know if that would be appropriate or not. It's kind of different from when I was in high school still and asked my English teacher for help on my first college essays... I don't want to offend my professor by making her think my current college isn't good enough for me, or something...

Also, if it helps anyone to answer, I believe that my professor's daughter is actually a student at the university I'm trying to transfer to.
