I am white and live in the U.S. and in my ethnic class I have to determine where whites were colonized or if immigrated to the U.S. Did we face prejudice, segregation, racism or any combination of the three? If so, how and why? Was we effected by or did we participate in any of the following forms of discrimination? If so, describe: .Dual labor, Environmental justice issues, Affirmative action, Redlining, Double jeopardy, Institutional discrimination, Reverse discrimination, and Glass ceiling, glass walls, or glass escalator? Please Help!!!!!!!!!

If you look at the Irish and the Italians there was some discrimination "Irish need not apply" etc. But there was always "white privilege" something that by virtue of your Caucasian ancestry you have certain advantages over most ethnic groups.
There was also Ellis Island and what immigrants had to go through in that gateway to America.

what a huge question. The answer is yes to both your questions. Maybe you could focus on the history of the irish in the US. at different times, groups of immigrants were discriminated against. also, would you consider Arabs white? The algerians were colonized as were the egyptians. The egyptians by the romans, (who colonized a lot of people groups), the greeks, and the british.
