I am in the process of applying for transfer to another university from my current one, and I'm stressing over my admission essay at that moment. I would like to ask my English Comp professor if she could revise my draft for me, but I don't know if that would be appropriate or not. It's kind of different from when I was in high school still and asked my English teacher for help on my first college essays... I don't want to offend my professor by making her think my current college isn't good enough for me, or something...

Also, if it helps anyone to answer, I believe that my professor's daughter is actually a student at the university I'm trying to transfer to.

You can't ask her to revise a draft (that's your job), but you can ask her (very very politely) if she would be able to look over the essay you've written and provide suggestions for improvement.

I guarantee your professor will not take your wish to transfer as an insult. I swear. It doesn't matter where her child goes to school. The only insult would be asking her to help to write or to revise your essay.

Best wishes to you.

I don't think it would be too much of a problem, as long as you explain why you are doing this and that you would *love* to stay here, but the school doesn't offer enough (math, science, arts, whatever) for you to excel. Professors don't get paid by student so i don't think he'll mind.

However, a little cash on the side *may* be worth it, as teachers salaries are not the highest in the world.

I would think that you could write your first draft and ask your professor to read it, make comments, etc. I would approach her and say that you're considering a transfer (explain why without much detail) and tell her that you value her opinion and were therefore hoping etc etc. I imagine the worst that could happen is that she says no. I doubt it will affect her grading of your work, for example...

Why not ask. The purpose of college is to better your education so it u need what u need than ask. The problem with people is it is insane to assume what the next person feels or think base on what I stress out about. She is there to help so ask for it and if she refuse find someone else. She is not the only one there I hope. Have faith and good luck.

i could recommend the contrasting attitude. of course, you *are not* happy alongside with your modern-day college, it rather is the completed component of a flow, and the admissions place of work is familiar with it. So, talk approximately what *will* fulfill you, and why OU did not have it, and Marietta (optimistically) will. Flat out bashing is mindless, yet you're actually not likely to be making a music the praises of a college you're attempting to get out of. Objectively state what grew to become into incorrect with it, quite of having emotionally in touch.
