You're a legacy if your parents, grand parents, siblings, etc, any member of your family has attended that university before.

If your a legacy it means you've had a family member who attended that same university.

If your parents, grandparents, great grandparents attended. Also siblings and sometimes children are extended to parents going to college. It can get you points on being accepted and sometimes di$counts on tuition or dorm costs.

Exactly if someone related to you (siblings, parents, aunt, uncle, etc.) has attended that particular university (sometimes it helps sometimes not) but well worth mentioning......
