I was wondering if it was possible to attend school at a community college for one year, and then transfer to another community college in a different state?

No problem at all. They will give you most, if not all of your credits. Make sure to work it with your 4-year school if you want to transfer later on. I've been to 2 community schools and 2 states universities to get my 2nd degree.

If you have not already begun your first year, check with both schools that you plan to attend to see what they require (such as marks, tuition dates, etc). Major in the same topic at both schools as you will get more credits transferred than you would if you were to switch majors.

If you are already in your first year and want to transfer in the second, contact College #2 and ask what they require. Also, talk to the Program Coordinator for your major at that College to see which course MAY apply for substitute credit. Again, it is preferable to keep your major the same.

Good luck.

yes. its easy. most schools have similar classes so you can match up the classes (what you took at one school so you don't have to retake them at another).

just get your transcripts and talk to your counsler when you get to the new school
