My friends back home, we are tighter than tight. It's kinda ridiculous. So when I went to college I expected the same thing, but then I realized something that I didn't have to experience before. I had to make new friends. This really pisses me off, because the people I have met aren't what I think of as friends, because my expectations for friends are so high, and I can't stand them really. I'm not going to lie, and some of you may be mad about this, but i'm really really politically conservative. All my friends are like this. We have such great times, but I have had trouble finding people like this at college. Hmmmmmmmmmm. I don't know. I think going to a bigger school, like a state school would mean that there are more people to chose from and thus there is a better chance of meeting people that you like. Is that true. Has anyone transfered schools and regretted leaving where they were before.

My BA and MA are both in history, and now I'm applying to PhD programs after being out of school since 2003. All of the programs I'm applying to admit people who have MA's and people who only have BA's. Will the admissions committees look more favorably on me because I already have an MA? Also, will my GPA at the MA level matter more than my GPA at the BA level?

I'm a freshman just about to start my second semester at a medium sized college the midwest. Now I don't want to drop out or do anything like that, but what i am considering is transferring, maybe to a bigger school. this is odd, because when looking for a school out of high school I thought a bigger school would not be for me, but now I'm thinking I was completely wrong, because I hate the small school feeling. I have had so much fun with friends from high school and friends that I have known since I was a little kid since I've been back home. Back at college I have friends, but quite frankly I don't really feel connected with them, and I think that I have made dead-end relationships unlike back home. I know this post has been all over the place, but basically what I'm asking is what should I do, I hate my particular college.

I'm an undergrad planning on attending medical school in a couple years. I was just wondering if any of you current med school students invested any time in a girl/boyfriend while you were an undergrad. Or did you find that you spent too much time on school for one. If you did, was it worth it? If you didn't, do you with you had?

I am in my senior year of college and I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry. However I have recently re-discovered my passion for acting after taking an acting class. I excelled in it. Ever since I was a child people thought I would be a great actress but the dream seemed so far out of reach. Now I feel this emptiness and I feel so unmotivated to study anymore. I have come so far but I feel so misdirected in life.

Have you shared this feeling? How did you overcome it?

Please share your story.
