I'm an undergrad planning on attending medical school in a couple years. I was just wondering if any of you current med school students invested any time in a girl/boyfriend while you were an undergrad. Or did you find that you spent too much time on school for one. If you did, was it worth it? If you didn't, do you with you had?

I'm a senior at the University of Michigan and I have had a gilfriend since freshman year. It's very do-able...Take a couple days off (for me it was Friday and Sunday) to hang out with her or him and your love will grow.

I studied for the MCAT Saturdays and did my volunteer stuff during the week.

It paid off (University of Washington School of Med '11) :-)

Good Luck (Wo)Man..It'll work out for you.

I'm a law student, not a med student, but the time commitments are pretty much the same. For what it's worth: Yes, I did invest time in relationships and it was a TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. I don't recommend that you do that at all. However, it really comes down to you and what you want to do.

Its not as intensive as you are making it out to be, if you set your mind to it you can do it, the hardest thing about med school is getting accepted. The dating scene is just like everyones.
