Is it better to go NS 1st so that when i go polytechnic and study, I can go to work after that?

go NS 1st..becos when u finish ur ns..u can carry on study to pursue ur future..like tt u wun be wastin time..

It depends on individual and their families. If you need to support your family, then the advice is to go NS first afterwhich you take up a part time course in polytechnic while you work in the day. Otherwise there is no difference on either going NS first or polytechnic first as you may spend the same amount of time before you can start working

What are you looking for? NS makes you develop different habits and usually breaks determination to progress into the next higher level. But if you look at the salary gap between ITE grads, Polytechnic grads and University grads... that should be motivation enough.
