I saw the question linked below, and nearly keeled over. I answered the question as best I could, explaining what a professor's job actually entails. Do college students really think all we do is teach class and then go home?

Honestly, what do you think your professors' work involves?
(I'm almost afraid to see your answers.)

I am a college freshman who made one of the most difficult choices in my life.

I applied to 21 different schools during my senior year, and got acceptance from

Duke University
Cornell University
University of Michigan Ann Arbor
University of Virginia
Carnegie Mellon University
University of Florida

All of these colleges but Florida costed me around $30,000 to $40,000 per year, but they were internationally prestigious and TOP 20 colleges in the nation while Florida was 48th.

I picked Florida, because I received Bright Future scholarship for 4 years and this covered 100% of my tuition.

I am currently studying Economics, pre-law, and pre-medicine.

Did I make a reasonable choice?

I am in grade 12 in Ontario right now and it's almost the end of semester one. I have advanced functions and introductory calculus (MCB4U), and geometry and discrete mathematics (MGA4U) next semester.

I have applied for electrical engineering at u of toronto, u of waterloo, and ryerson u.

I want to buy a graphing calculator so I can use it next semester, and continue to use it if I get accepted to one of these universities.

Now, should I buy a TI-89 Titanium, TI-84 Plus, or TI-84 Plus Silver Edition?

I was doing quite fine in my country. I completed high school with high grades, got admitted into the best college in the nation. I completed 2 semesters in BBA (24 credits) with a GPA of 3.50. But then I came to US (legal resident) and had to live in NY for 1 year to be considered as permanent NY resident and financial aid. Again, I couldn't transfer my credits. Now all I can do is to restart the BBA (bachelors in business admin) which would mean I will have lost 3 years. By the time I finish college I will be 27. Will this affect my career?

Also, is this true that in US a Bachelors degree in Business administration gets you a fairly good job no matter what?

I have heard that you need to know integral calculus when you enter u of t because although they don't say it, they expect you to know it. Can anyone who was in grade 12 in Ontario in the year 2005-2006 tell me if you learned integral calculus in grade 12? Did they teach it to you this year at u of t?

My grandfather went to Harvard, and did very well there. He served on an admission board there. He has a lot of money and he thinks he can help me go there. I get A's and B's, and I do a lot of sports and activities after school, and I got a really good SAT score. What are my chances? I heard a family member helps a lot.

I was recently advised to apply for a Master's Degree from an Australian university. I haven't completed my Bachelor's, but i was told that they would accept a polytechnic diploma with work experience as the entrance requirement for that Master's Degree programme.

The university is acrredited, and the school / college that runs this programme conducts training for major companies and government departments. Anyone think this it's a good idea to go straight from a diploma to a master's?

I am wondering if a school can tell whether you took the class online or in a classroom. I am going to be transfering from a community college to a university. the university tells me that they won't accept chem and bio classes that were taken online. My question is, Can they tell by my transcripts whether or not I did them in a classroom or online? Hope this makes sense. thanks in advance.
