I don't know about UCSC, but UCD doesn't have an actual business major; the closest is Managerial Economics. However, what you may not know is that you don't need a business major to get into business. You can have any major, even Philosophy or Women's Studies, and get a business job, because what they really look for are your skills like organization, leadership, and communication.
That being said, UCD is overall a better school. The quality of education is close to that of UC Berkeley, while UCSC is only marginally better than San Jose State.

UC Davis is a more traditional business program than UCSC. Both are good programs I'm sure, however I would learn more towards UCD.
It is closer to the state captiol which has a lot of business connections. While there is no "business" degree, UCD has a lot of majors that can get you what you want:
Managerial Economics (B.S. degree - more applied econ)
Economics (A.B. - a lot of theory)
International Development - World Trade and Development Track
Sociology - Organizational Studies
Textiles & Clothing - Marketing Track
Managerial Economics has more of the financial planning and accounting courses that are useful today. Economics is based in theory at UCD (and most UCs) since they are research institutions.

To tell you the truth, they both suck (if your talking about business). Technically, the best business schools in CA are Stanford, UC Berkeley, USC, SDSU, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Santa Clara, and then any other state school.
UC's are all pretty much research oriented and don't offer many practical majors. UCD and UCSC don't even have undergrad business programs....so it's not a good idea. All they have is Economics. If you can't get into one of the top schools and you want to major in Business, i say go to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo or SDSU.

i don't be responsive to the way reliable all of the courses in corporation/accounting is, yet i could look at different aspects--how is the alumni association, what are the different opportunities including golf equipment and companies, learn out of the country or shuttle journeys if that hobbies you, and campus existence. that's merely approximately as far from SC to SF as from Davis to SF -- somebody hasn't pushed it these days! SC - lots of distractions and primary as a laid-returned occasion college yet with extremely sensible human beings. Davis is a sturdy, slightly greater conservative section, and is on the fringe of Sacramento for summer season internships.
