For this question of mine i need some help from those ppl who are in Canada and in British Columbia.
Iam interested in studying pharmacy in ubc, but don't understand exactly where to start from.Currently iam almost done with my grade 12 and when i contacted ubc they told me that i can't directly apply from grade 12 and that i need to do atleast one year of bachelor of science. The problem is that if i start doing the one year program there i won't be done by next year and their application deadline is somewhere in feburary.
Some of u might think that why iam asking here and not talking to the advisors in university.....well i did and and everytime i called....talked to different ppl and they had different opinions.
There must be someone here who either goes to ubc to study pharmaceutical sciences or has done it recently.....and can give me some advice and guidance.
Thanks in advance
p.s which colleges and universities offer that bachelor of science besides ubc in British Columbia

I'm a sophmore in high school, i'm in all the honors classes i can take right now, i got all A's my freshman year, i'm getting all A's this year (except for honors chem in which i have a B), i'm in CSF, i'm in a variety of extracurriculars but i focus on what i like, i'm doing tons of community service hours, but i know that once i apply to Harvard, i'll be in a pool of thousands of other people with the same kind of qualifications as me. what can i do to make myself stand out from the others? This has been a lifelong dream of mine and i'll do whatever it takes to get there.

Right now Im a senior in HS and I want to be a pharmacist. I know I have to complete my pre-requisites which should take about 2 years tops before applying to Pharmacy school. I originally applied to University of Florida but unfortuanately was denied. I did get accepted to Florida State. They do not have a graduate pharmacy program like UF does but it is possible to complete the prepharmacy courses. FSU is 400 miles away from home. Should I leave for 2 years just for prepharmacy classes when I know I wont be there any longer than that or should I stay home and go to a community college instead? Its an important decision that I had all figured out until UF denied me and all my plans changed. I appreciate any suggestions

Ok so i got to a school where physics is only mandatory if you began on the honors biology track and so forth. (i am a junior). However, i am not on that track. My science credits are done because the only 2 required science classes i had to take were biology and physical science. As far as college goes, i'd liek to do pre-med and further on go to medical school. As of right now, i have succesfully completed biology, physical science, chem (which is optional), human phys. (ELEVCTIVE) and i have oceanography next term (ELECTIVE). So i have that much already done in the science department. I personally believe i wont besuccessful in physics and i alreay that my senior year i have a FULL courseload- AP Literature, AP physcology, AP Gov. and politics, functions and trig, my newspaper class, and im retaking chem for a better grade.Instead of physics i want to do a nursing program to be a certified nursing assistant. How would not taking physics affect college admission + image to admissions

I recently dropped out of pharmacy school due to academic probation and now i am looking to reapply to get into another university's pharmD program. However most pharmacy schools application deadline is over by now and i am wondering if anyone have advise as on what i should do?or which door i should go knock on?
I understand i could wait for a year and reapply but i really dont want to waste another year doing undergrad work tat ive completed. I have a great Pcat score but it was from before the addition of writting component, so i am guessing that might be a problem.
But either way, i need some input and advise on what i should do. I feel the longer i wait the faster im losing the drive to be the good student i used to be.

I know I could never get into Stanford or anything at that level. I know my GPA sucks for law school. Is still possible to get into a good school like Boston College if I do really well on the LSAT's? Do law schools take other things into consideration like work experience, undergraduate school, or, major? Or, should I am lower, much lower??

I noticed in school in can get into college is a much lower entrance score than a white student. Also you recieve more grants than a white student. And when you graduate a monority has a better chance of getting hired than a white person.

Is any of this really fair?

Also would you have a doctor or surgeon operate on you knowing that the person skimmed thru because of affirmative action?

Please discuss...

Dont get me wrong I feel it is crucial that we continue our education all throughout our life. But a degree really doesnt seem necessary as long as I dont stop learning(ofcourse I am ignoring the financial/career aspect of it).

I can always take classes at university of my choice if I feel I need more guidance or dicipline. Besides college is not the only place to find teachers. You can learn from almost anyone you meet on the street.
(and dont give me the old "qualifications" answer, I really dont hold any merit in qualifications)
