Or like in general because I have busted my *** for those last 3 years in high school and now my Guidance counselor has told me that I don't have much of a chance at getting into College. Mostly because of the No Child Left Behind Policy, but that doesn't matter now. so anyway can anyone help me?

I am currently a junior at Iowa and my first semester is just wrapping up. I registered for a television criticism and a writing workshop for the spring semester, but are there other things I can do to help myself? What kinds of courses should I take to help me get ready for this challenging career?

Hi-
I'm a high school sophomore who's DYING to go to college. High school basically is torture for me. I mean I get As and Bs, I play sports, and I'm in clubs and everything, but only for college. I work hard and all of that, and I excel in school, but it doesn't mean I like it. Anyway, my question is: for all of you college-goers/grads: which was better for you h.s. or college? Is the college environment more mature socially, etc? In my opinoin, I can barely stand to be in the same room with some of these hoodlums at my school...I apologize for sounding like an old lady. lol anyway just let me know if it really DOES get better after you finally get that diploma and head off to college!!! I need to look forward to something! =) thanks!

I have no pre-existing friends/family in the area, since I'm from out-of-state going to the University of Minnesota: Twin Cities.

But I'm open to doing social activities and chilling with people.

Will I do fine?

I need advice on persuing law school or not. I have a high GPA, University and departmental Honors, and a high LSAT score but the law school only accepts 10% of its applicants. I am a single mother (well above their normal age) and have not participated much with online clubs or student government positions. Should I apply or just say that it is too late to think about it now? The school says they look at the "whole" applicant and wants a resume and other student positions held. I worked from home during my undergrad years so I could take care of my son. What should I do?

Ok, so I have a college diploma in Accounting & Management Technology (3 year program) and I'm thinking of continuing my education but I want something short. The program I'm interested in is Certificate in Business Administration (university). Now, my questions are:

1. What is the difference between this program and the one I already completed?

2. Would I get a better paying job with a certificate?

3. Could I apply for jobs (which want a university degree) with my certificate?

I just hate most of my algebra math problems. I feel that I don't need it in my life. To be honest, I don't like my teacher very much. He's a good person, but some of his math problems seem difficult and irrelevant (my tutor, and other students agree).

What I need is a life direction and a better job or a career that can support me. I want to learn how to be independent and manage my own life.
