It's my first year at university as a mature student at 22. Before that I was working in HR at a media company. I decided to to a media degree because it was my favourite subject at school. Im now wishing I continued working as I'm studying with a bunch of immature kids that don't take uni seriously. I wont finish uni til im 25 and I feel like im missing out on doing things like travelling and gaining more work experience. By the time I finish I'll be just starting out in a career and then have to start immediately saving for a house, renting at the same time and who knows maybe thinking about children soon. I think I've made a mistake in going Uni. Has anyone else been through this?. Am I being unpatient? I thought Uni was going to be fun and that there'd be a wide variety of people I can relate to but its not the case it's boring, the tutors are unhelpful and the other students dont really care abput passing at all. Any advice anyone?

I'm in this honors class, and I'm not doing that great. I'm afraid if I drop out, I will end up regretting my decision, and it would look bad on my record for college in the future. What should I do?

I must have taken the PSAT in 1986 and the SAT in 1987, or somewhere around there. I took both tests while attending St. Francis high school in Mountain View, Ca. After graduating in 1988 I went on to attend one year at New York University, but lived it up too much in NYC and forgot all about school, which led to my not being asked back for a second year.

do I take the fun class first? or the practical one? (and maybe do fun later on??)?

I'm trying to decide between classes that are only offered once a year.
Should I take the practical ones for my major? or the ones that mean a lot to me and would feed my soul? assuming I don't HATE them --entirely possible. If I take the fun ones they would count but it would push my graduation time back a semester at least.

Junior, getting ready for visits and everything. Just curious how I can be competetive at good schools if I'm not a you know 4.0 student like a lot of ppl. I go to a small private school that is very hard. I think I'm going to have good recs, I'm involved in playing music w/diff groups two nights a week. I'll be alpine captain as a senior. I work in a children's center at a ski area during the winter, waitress during the summer. Community service at art openings.....etc..... Any tips, I'm a good writer and was chosen by my school to apply for the young writer's writing conference at bread loaf. Not too worried about interviews, I can normally hold my own with adults b/c i'm around them a lot.....
Any advice is definitely appreciated=)

I want to take a philosophy class Into into philosophy(1030) but do I have to take something else first?
It says that the prereqesites are "An acceptable placement score, or DSPR 0800 and DSPW0800.(Same as RODP PHIL 1030)"

Other classes offered in this area are

intro to logic 110
workplace ethics 120
religion in america 210
intro to biblical studies 260
..and a few more clases in the 200's

This is my first semester and I believe that the placement score means what I made on the ACT. which I did fairly well on it and should be fine in all areas from the ACT point.

I am kindof confused about this course number I notice that most courses like english are 1010 1020 1030 and so on. I do not see any other philosophy classes with 1010 or 1020...

If you could explain this I would appreciate it greatly thanks so much!
