I must have taken the PSAT in 1986 and the SAT in 1987, or somewhere around there. I took both tests while attending St. Francis high school in Mountain View, Ca. After graduating in 1988 I went on to attend one year at New York University, but lived it up too much in NYC and forgot all about school, which led to my not being asked back for a second year.

They do still have your scores on file and you can have them sent. Its unlikely that a college will ask for them for anything but placement, since you've done some college. However, they may want your scores for placement purposes and they may want you to retake them, since your SAT scores are now a couple of generations old. Getting your scores from the College Board people is going to cost you a lot of money, so if the school balks at all about taking your old schools its not going to cost you much more to retake them. On the other hand, your high school also has your scores so you may want to get your high school transcript, if the college will accept that.

Schools will not refuse to admit you based on your old grades. (you didn't ask, but I've been there) They recognize that your prior problems were a long time ago. You won't have any trouble convincing them that you have matured. The worst case scenario is that they ask you to take a couple of classes as a non-matriculated (non-degree candidate) student before they formally admit you. Good Luck!

I'm sure that the testing organization still has them on file.

The schools are going to require that you retake them. The tests have changed over time and they want to compare you to the current students, not those almost twenty years ago.

Your high scholmay still have them, ask. College Board scores are kept on file. Their location is in Princeton, NJ, you can ask for them, there may be a charge. NYU could also have them on file.
