Do I need to be skilled at learning foreign languages if...?

...I want to pursue a career as a diplomat or work for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office abroad?? Or can I rely on other skills?

Probably. Being able to speak a foreign language is an excellent skill to have in the job market. I know some colleges that Require you to have at least 1 year in a foreign language just to graduate no matter what your major is.
