Yes -- US News ranks it at #60 in the nation -- which makes it a top 20 State School. It is comparable to many of the schools in the Big Ten (Penn State, Ohio State, Minnesota) which are among the better state schools.

It certainly is. It is listed amoung the top public universities in the country. Check U.S. News and World Report and the other mags that rate colleges. It also rates well among public and private schools.
