Hi,
I'm currently taking a gap year and I need to have another eye test. I know that an eye test if free from the NHS if your under 19 and in full-time education... So are gap year students excluded from this?

Cheers

you're not in full time education but you canget a free eye test if you are on a low income, even if that is earned income not benefits.

The optician will have the form. You can either apply first or you can have the test and then apply and ask for a refund.

If you are taking a gap year it generally means you are travelling or working ie not studying. If you are studying full time, then you are in full time education and willl be eligible for benefits. If this does not apply to you then you will have to pay, unless your signed on the dole or sick leave, in which case you may be eligible for benefits also
