Like i asked above, can you go to BYU (Idaho or Utah) if you aren't LDS? Do you have to go to an LDS church? Do you have to follow the same standards? I'm LDS, but i'm still curious.

I have the opportunity to go to a community college or go to a university. Ether way i will probobly graduate with the same degree but i can go two years at the community college and save alot of money. In theory its the best idea but i will be missing the "college expirence" I was wondering if getting a dorm and joining a frat is worth the money.

I am currently applying for various colleges. I would like some recommendations of good colleges. I want to applying for Rensselaer, Brown, MIT, Caltech, Carnegie. The tops, I also want to apply for the lesser known ones, because I hear that the teacher:student ratio is better. I would greatly appreciate any help.

I don't really have a close relationship with many professors. I do, however, have a close relationship with a high school teacher who would write an excellent recommendation. Is it okay to send one letter from a professor and one from a high school teacher, or would it be better to use a second professor, even if the letter won't be as good?

I've been thinking about getting a laptop for college, but recently have changed my mind. Laptop, first of all, get stolen easily and can get dropped and damaged. A desktop may take up too much space and be a hassle to bring back home vacation time. I probably won't need a computer all that much outside of dorm, so why buy a laptop? The dorms have high speed internet connection. Do I need special wires to hook up to the internet in the dorm with a desktop or laptop? How do I get wireless internet on a laptop? How does that work?

For anyone whose already been to college or is in college I'll appreciate any help. Thanks.

I'm 35 years old, 12 years out of college, and wanting to get a master's degree to become a school counselor or school psychologist. When I was in college I was very unfocused and also had a substance abuse problem that left me unable to really apply myself to school. As a result, my grades suffered and although I did earn my degree in communication, I had pretty bad grades on my transcripts and little more than a piece of paper. Now, I'm on the road to recovery in my life and want to go back to school, but am uncertain how to get accepted into a reputable grad program based on my poor performance in college. Gratefully, I now have the financial means and the time to go back to school, but don't think any grad schools will accept me based on my grades. I want to know if I should go back to school for a second B.A. degree in psychology to "clean up my grades" and then go from there into the application process for grad school? And....how do I do this?
