It depends on what your focus of study you are interested. There are schools of concentration within the Business College and while Harvard may rank higher in one area, Northwestern or Wharton may be stronger in others. I would also consider your financial situation. You could get a better education going to one of the so called "Ivy League" schools, but I think you can get just as good of an education at many state universities and colleges. You will pay significantly more for your education at an ivy league school than a state school. Keep in mind when you are quoted salaries from these schools, where those graduates are going to be working. If you go to work for a company in New York or the Northeast, your starting salary will probably be higher than if you go to work for a company in the South or Midwest. Salaries will usually be comparable when adjusted for the regional cost of living. You will pay several times the tuition at one of the ivy league colleges as you would a state school. Most of the business colleges teach basically the same courses. The primary advantage is that you may have some opportunites to network because you went to Harvard, for instance. Once you get into the workforce, it makes little difference where you got your MBA. After a couple of years the only thing an employer will be interest is your job performance. If you will need to pay for your own MBA it will likely take several years longer to repay any loan than if you went to a good state school. The University of Texas and University of Tennessee are two good business schools. So are Harvard and Yale. The difference in tuition is tremendous. I knew of one individual who received an MBA from the University of Tennessee several years ago who had a starting salary of more than $90M.

The best university? an Ivy League like Harvard or Yale obiviously. If you want a reasonably priced alternative go for a private university or a state university. It all depends on where you are from and how far away you want to go.
