Investment bank itself has many different departments, research, private banking, bond trading, arbitrary trading among many others. A lot of undergrads who majored in business or economics do apply to i-banks, but there are also other majors like math, financial engineering that can get you noticed. Arbitrary trading and research for example require someone with very very strong qualitative skills. Whatever your major is, as long as you understand how the market works and have an interest in it that you can show on your resume and interview, will get you an entry level position at an i-bank.
