I love seafood and their commercials look awesome, but a couple of friends of mine, said it's not as good as it looks. How can that be, the commercials make me salivate!!! Is it really true?

You obviously dont know much about eating out in Detroit

I am looking for gems that make Detroit special.

Dont pretend that Detroit is New York or Paris.

Its the Motor City - coney islands, fried chicken, eastern market, etc.

Whats good for dining out. Doesnt have to be "fancy"

I don't know if any of you have tried The Melting Pot or if you even have this particular rest. in your area. I live in NC and my hubby and I went there Friday to celebrate our anniversary. It's a fondue rest. where you cook your own food right at your table. We had the best dinner I've ever had and I was in the rest. business for 9 years. The atmosphere, the food, the service were terrific. The prices were a bit exorbent but with a 4 course meal I really can't complain. If any of you get a chance to try it we had:

Wisconsin cheese fondue with bread, veggies and granny smith apples.
Mushroom salad
Coq a vin fondue with filet, terriaki sirloin, tiger shrimp and lobster with veggies
and flaming turtle chocolate fondue

Dinner took about an hour and a half. It was well worth the time and the money spent. Especially for a special occassion. You can even go just for dessert. OMG it was delicious!

and if you're in Greensboro, definately ask for Beth. She was outstanding!

Used to be a Chili's there, but WAY before that (mid- to late-80s) there was an awesome Mexican restaurant there. Anyone? This is driving me nuts. :)

Just wondering. Have ya'll watched the movie "Waitinng"? Do you think that kind of thing really happens? I'm a server and have put up with some very unbelievable characters while doing my job. It's amazing how people act and what they do while they are out dining. I won't lie, Iv'e been tempted to lick somebody's steak or put some dishwater in their refill just to get revenge on unnecassary rudeness, but I have too much class. What gives? I can honestly say that most people I have served are wonderful and very generous, but for those few people that thinks the world owes them something, lol...have you ever heard of this saying "What goes around comes around"?
