It depends.

If your behavior at the cook-out was disrespectful of her, or you decided to stay longer than she wanted to, or she began feeling unwell and you couldn't take her home right then, etc., then she had every right to leave however she chooses.

If you were considerate and attentive to her and there were no extenuating circumstances, then she really isn't your girlfriend. Discovering that fact in that way would justify some anger!

Yes, I would be mad. The question is, is your girlfriend worth letting her know that you got mad?

If she's great and you have a great relationship otherwise, let her know you're mad and maybe something can be salvaged.

If she's not great and you don't have a great relationship, get mad...on your own time. Don't give her the time of day. Just let her go.

I would have to say yes. "Dance with the one that brought you" is an old saying, but it still holds true. If she came with you, she should likely be leaving with you. There are exceptions of course, ie. if she left with her dad/brother, or you got so drunk she didn't want to get in a car with you for instance, but if this is a "found a better prospect at the party" and basically ditched you thing....you have the right to be PO'd.
