As stated above, many styles of b-b-q, and if you want to branch out to Korean or other styles of b-b-q there are many such place in LA.

But the best in LA County is Phillips. There are three locations, better for take-out than to eat there (crowded and small). Two in LA proper: 2619 Crenshaw Blvd, 4307 Leimert Blvd; and 1517 Centinela Ave in Inglewood.

In West LA, Mr. Cecil's CAlifornia Ribs is an underrated place, wonderful dry-style b-b-q, served with a choice of sauce. 12244 W Pico Blvd.

It looks like a shack, but the real smoker is outside and you can smell it coming down the street. The real deal is at:

"Tasty Q" on Crenshaw Blvd just south of the 10 Santa Monica Fwy on the west side of the street about 1/2 mile south. The greens are out of this world And their fried turkey is unbelievable. But go hungry the portions are huge... the ribs are incredible.

Let me give you directions. You'll need to take the 405 to the 10. Go east on I-10. You'll travel for some time until you reach the place. It's called Texas.

I don't know if there is a "best" because there are different kinds of good BBQ across the city. We get a bad rap about our BBQ here. But for my money I love Philipps on Crenshaw...I love the ribs, chicken and links.

Don't take just any ones opinion on this.

You will like to find restaurants using web sites which allow you to see photos of the place, a copy of the menu and locate them where I would like to find them. You know what you like!
