Just wondering. Have ya'll watched the movie "Waitinng"? Do you think that kind of thing really happens? I'm a server and have put up with some very unbelievable characters while doing my job. It's amazing how people act and what they do while they are out dining. I won't lie, Iv'e been tempted to lick somebody's steak or put some dishwater in their refill just to get revenge on unnecassary rudeness, but I have too much class. What gives? I can honestly say that most people I have served are wonderful and very generous, but for those few people that thinks the world owes them something, lol...have you ever heard of this saying "What goes around comes around"?

No. You should show as much respect to others as you expect other should show you.

Loved the money and wouldn't classify it as a waste of time or money, but perhaps "entertainment." Anyway, I'm a server as well and have come across my fair share of jerks. But as stated, it kinda comes with the territory. No matter where you go or what you do you have to interact with some people, and odds are, there are going to be at least a couple ******* along the way. Karma is an awesome thing.

When you work in service, you encounter a very diverse group of people. But that's ok! It encourages you to learn from them and to develope your serving skills. I worked selling wines and I know about the stories, and they had some great stories.

But, you know, you are right, what goes around comes around. Don't take it personal and be the best at what you do.

Never saw the movie and I'd never waste my money or time that way. >30 years in restaurants/F&B puts me way ahead of that silly movie. Buck up, missy, and take it as it comes. There are assholes in every line of work, you just have the added treat of getting to see more people as a wait so you get to see more assholes. Those are the facts of life in food service. Just be thankful that there aren't more assholes, and usually you'll find this to be true. There are more nice, decent people, and you get to see them too. Smile, now, and get back out there. I think table #3 is ready to order.

it is not very smart, you are talking to the person who is bringing you food that you are about to put in your body, and i think that with that kind of control over your food i would be very nice, if i were treated that way. i would never send back food or be nasty about it if i did because you never know what is going on behind the wall to the kitchen area!!

Never. 20/20 had a piece about what happens when you get your server mad at you. It's not pretty.
