... quite attractive, actually. But, she believes she's getting lower tips (%) than the other waitstaff. She's not sure what she's doing wrong, or even IF she's doing something wrong. She averages about 17-20% per gross dollar which seems about right to me so it's possible that the other waitstaff are just pulling her leg in telling her what they make.
This is her first serving job and it's just a temporary thing but she's feeling like she's not doing a good job. She's never gotten a complaint from any customer (been there a month and a half) and in fact she's been commended a few times by customers. The place is a mid- to up-scale restaurant with latin cuisine.
Do you think that she's making about the right amount and that the other waitstaff are just pulling her leg -- or, is 17-20% low?
