For mexican, kinda gourmet... good food, good bar, amazing atmosphere and service Platiyos on Clark and School

Angelinas on Broadway and Addison for Italian
Indie Cafe on Broadway and Thorndale for Sushi or Hey Sushi on Broadway and Diversey. There are GREAT places on Clark in Andersonville, that have a lebonese kind of flare. If you take the redline, get out at Argyle, and there are some VERY authentic Thai and Vietnamese places. These are all pretty inexpensive, but totally not 'cheap'. Get out and discover places you haven't been to before, thats how I found these.

There is (or at least used to be?) an excellent Greek restaurant in the Embassy Suites on the Near North Side. It's been a few years so I can't remember the name, but the food was great.

how about Ann Sather (one in Andersonville and one at the Belmont RedLine Station) for swedish meatballs and fab breakfasts.
Angelina Ristorante is one of our faves (Addison and Broadway)

and Cafe 28 (Cuban) Irving Park at Brown Line (Ravenswood)

There's a good Korean BBQ thats open 24/7 that we also like.. ummm..can't remember its name- maybe it was San Soo Gab San on Western (haven't been there in a while)

and we really like Geja's Fondue

For Mexican, check out Ceasars. There are two one on Broadway and one on N Clark. For Indian definately Hema's, there are two locations.
