try the "gumbo shop" in the french quarter just past jefferson square i think. i know it is one block off pirates alley by the cathedrial. been eating there since 1963. changed a little since then but not much. just more upscale now. food is wonderful, patio is hidden from the street. while you are there check out aunt sally's praline shop. another one i have been shopping since 1963. i was 6 and started going there with my parents and have continued ever since.
