Okay, I guess it's more of the "Financial District" than downtown, sorry! But if you know any in either that would be wonderful! =)

Are you looking for casual food or a high end place?

For casual, check out Sultan's Kitchen on State St (just behind Faneuil Hall). Awesome dishes both vegetarian and meat. Their Falafel is incredible.

If you don't mind walking a little, Addis Red Sea is an Ethiopian restaurant that is a lot of fun, and has many vegetarian options. http://www.addisredsea.com/
