This Italian restaurant in NYC had amazing food and was served family style. It was located close to Broadway (maybe even on Broadway) and the menus were hand painted on the walls. When I dined ther I felt as though I was in an episode of the Sopranos. What is the name of the restaurant??? I want to go back!

In a restaurant? Fast food?

I go to fast food places or order pizza about once every 1-2 weeks, and go to a restaurant about once every 2-3 months, unless I'm on a road trip with my family, then I eat out for every meal.

We have done Chelsea Piers, Spirit Cruise, ESPN Zone in the past. I tried getting tickets for the Late Show with David Letterman but they couldn't accommodate such a large group.

General and detailed replies appreciated.

Possible considerations of:
- What is ‘reasonable’.
- Local customs and habits.
- Income and living standards such as eating out as infrequent or common place at all meal times.
- Work patterns that affect meal times of breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Takeaways or office order-ins and the trend of discounted or subsidised office foods.
- Frequency of meals in winter as opposed to summer.
- Cost of food the decisive factor or convenience and practicality based on work.
- Time as a luxury, age group preferences (say 20 to 30, 30 to 40’s, to 50s, all ages above).

Appreciate details such as when should reservations be made and any note worthy points you feel important to point out.

Preferably dishes ‘local’ to Chicago for lunch and dinner.
Will also look into places that do haute cuisine without comparable prices.
What kind of ballpark prices and foods should one expect?
How far ahead should one make reservations or are some of these restaurants by invitation or association only ? Is ordering in advance recommended ?

My goal is to start developing some friendships so what I am doing is stepping out of my comfort zone by first going to different residence halls to eat. If you are in college you know what I am talking about). Well I get there I purposely sit at a big table so when it gets crowded people would be forced to sit their with me. But when they actually sit down I freeze up I sit there and not say one word but they don't say anything either. If I don't find the courage to strike up conversations I will never make any friends. What should I do? What should I say?
