I am planning to get DirectTV. I was wondering if it is possible to record a show from the DirectTV box onto a VCR or DVD recorder and then watch a different channel at the same time.

My TV has the PIP feature.

There are 2 tv's attached to the dish and are usually tuned to different stations. The Tivo will be attached to only one TV. For example: TV A is on American Idol, TV B is on CSI and I want to record Punk'd on at the same time? Can I do this? Or is it only CSI or American Idol that I'd be able to record? Any other info would be helpful.

I'm moving to America soon and thinking about bringing my Sony DVD recorder with me. I know that America has a different DVD region so I won't be able to watch American DVDs, but what about American TV channels or American cable? Will I have compatibility issues trying to watch and record American TV shows?

I have the Dish dvr. I had some shows on the dvr that I put onto a vhs tape so I could transfer that to dvd. Once I put the shows onto the vhs tape, I deleted the shows off the dvr. I accidentally hit the record button on the vhs and recorded over about 2 hrs on my tape. Is there some way I can get these back? Does dish have them stored in memory somewhere and they can recover them? Or am I just screwed? Thanks!

Would you recommend the good DVD recorder (to copy directly, not through PC) to transfer videos from video camera tapes (DV) onto DVD media.
Or maybe there's a new technology to do that already??
Something not too complicated and not too expensive.
Thx

I've set up my network with a linksys wireless-g router. I've also attached tivo brand wireless-g adapters to my two tivo machines. Without securing the network, all devices work. However, when I try to secure the network the tivos won't connect. I've tried every setting I can think of but must be doing something wrong or leaving something out. With security in place, the tivos detect the network but simply won't connect properly. Can anyone suggest a step-by-step (or at least very basic) guide that will help me to solve this problem.

I've read every document on the tivo website related to connecting a tivo to a secure wireless network but am having no luck.

Thank you for any information, suggestions or guidance you can provide.
