There are 2 tv's attached to the dish and are usually tuned to different stations. The Tivo will be attached to only one TV. For example: TV A is on American Idol, TV B is on CSI and I want to record Punk'd on at the same time? Can I do this? Or is it only CSI or American Idol that I'd be able to record? Any other info would be helpful.

Your DirecTV box is feeding only one channel at a time. You can only record a single channel and it will be the channel you have the DirecTV box set to. That means on TV A If you are recording American Idol that is also the only thing you can watch on that TV.

I have the hd dvr, it's 2 per dvr. not 1 per dvr.
1 per tuner is the norm.
