Hmm, reminds me of the LineBacker plans the local phone co's offer.

If your wiring/dish is difficult to access and you don't feel handy enough to do your own troubleshooting, I suppose it might be worth the monthly fee. OTOH, it's $72/yr, I've never had to do any inside work on my DirecTV setup in years, and I couldn't see a service call worth more than $100/trip. Personally I don't subscribe to it, and I probably never will.
