We just switched from Time Warner to DIRECTV. They told us Science and CW channels are on high def but they're not. That's very disappointing. With Time Warner, we got HD programs on every TV without buying an expensive receiver.

I recently moved and reconnected my Tivo to apartment- provided cable. It seems that connections have been made and all is functional, but 2 channels are nothing but static. When I disconnect Tivo, they are fine. Any thoughts on why this is, and most importantly how to fix it?

I recorded video onto a DVD-RW from a digital video camara. I didn't finalize the disc, and I don't have the camara anymore, but when I put the disc in the computer, it reads it as a blank disc. How do I finalize the disc, or make the files readable on the computer?

I moved into my house recently and there was a "dish network" satellite dish attached to the roof. The dish is about 18 inches in diameter and I think it is about 3 years old. I am going to take this down, but is it worth anything?

I have a series 1 Tivo, lifetime subscription. Trying to find best (cheapest) way to hook it to the internet. I don't use a home phone for anything else, I now have cable internet through Adelphia aka Comcast. I have found where people have hooked it to Vonage ( internet phone but you still pay a "phone bill") or where they have hooked it with a turbonet card (costs less than $50) however you have to open the Tivo unit to install this. The unit belongs to my daughter, she bought a newer series. So before I beg my kid to let me open the Tivo and operate on it is there another way?

I have a VCR/DVD unit, and I would like to connect it to my computer to transfer some old VHS tapes to DVD. I have a s-video connection on the back of my computer and a digital audio connection next to it too. So, I connected the VCR to my computer via these too connections, but Nero and Windows Media maker wont recognize my device. It keeps saying no device detected, make sure it is on and connected properly. Both cables are connected right, but what could be my problem?
