If you go to digitaluk.com, it will explain everything there on that site and it you are still unsure, there is a phone number you can ring, can't remember what it is but it's given out on the BBC when they advertise the digital service.

NO NO NO, you don't need a new tv

the switch over is starting this year, and will end in 2012.
So depending on where you live, will depend on when you get digitial ( if you can't already ). They are starting the switchover at the top of the uk and working downwards.

Go to www.freeview.co.uk/home

This will tell you if you can get the freeview ( digitial ).

If you can you will need a freeview box, and when the anagolue signial is turned off a digitial ariel.

hope this helps wg

In the US, the switch to digital is ongoing, with the switchoff of over the air analog NTSC signalling occurring in February 2009.

FCC is working to ease the pain by eventually providing coupons to purchase digital set-top converters for over the air broadcasts at reduced cost, if you choose not to buy a new TV for now.

All new TVs, flat screen or CRT, are now required to carry at least a digital ATSC tuner, so that should take the sting out of figuring out if your TV will make it past 02/09.

no, for older tv's you just need a digital set top box and you will get all the digital content. for a good one they retail AUD$200 and up, don't get High Definition box if you have an old tv though, won't see any difference. they keep moving the switch over date, last i heard it is now 2012 when everything will go digital
