Hello there low m and welcome to Yahoo answers.
If your HD ready TV has a digital tuner (ATSC) then you might be able to use an antenna to receive digital broadcasts - some of which are in HD. Antennaweb is a site that can help you determine if there are broadcasters in your area. I myself use an indoor antenna to watch local HDTV.

You can watch it with simply hooking up cable line, but if you want to watch in Hi Def, and probably thats why you bought the tv then you'll need a HD reciever, and don't forget the home theater system.

Just hook it up like your old TV and then order the digital programing, either from your satellite or cable, get the digital and Hi Def, you won't be sorry, but in the mean while, watch it! Oh remember with high def, the chanells are different and your local channels, for instance, chanell 7, abc in high def with ccomcast is 187.

Hi low m,
With a simple antenna you can watch live broadcasts in HD now or you can order digital cable and get it now.
