I'm moving to America soon and thinking about bringing my Sony DVD recorder with me. I know that America has a different DVD region so I won't be able to watch American DVDs, but what about American TV channels or American cable? Will I have compatibility issues trying to watch and record American TV shows?

I think maybe my first question wasn't clear. I know that a Japanese radio won't work in America because the broadcast frequencies are different. I'mn worried of having the same problem with TV.

Hi Qwerty,

You will be able to record and watch shows but you will not be able to play anything you record except on your player. You will not be able to load a DVD to anyone and have it work.
