I'm trying to get rid of some old electronics because I've gotten new ones to replace them or I'm plan on getting new ones to replace them but I don't know exactly what to do with them.

I have a laptop I bought in 2005, two digital cameras, a tv, a couple of old cell phones, etc. I don't know anyone who needs them so I don't have anyone to give them to. A friend of mine suggested a yard sale but I don't actually have enough stuff to really hold a yard sale.

Do you just toss them? Or are there places or shops that would maybe buy them even though their old? Any answers or suggestions would be great so I could try to figure out what to do with these items and any items in the future. Thanks!

Members of my family are regulars on ebay....
I am interested in buying a cell phone right now and I was wondering when you buy a cell phone from ebay how would you be able to get a plan for the phone so you can actually use it?
I have no idea how this works!!

1080p is that no matter the format but:

Porn won't win it. Vivid (the largest co.) supports BR. Generally tho, porn actrors have no interest in all their flaws displayed@ 1080p And producers want to move towards downloaded content anyhow. Cheaper to deliver when DVD sales have been slipping for years.

HD only has one exclusive backer: Universal. Everyone else is both or BR.

BR movies are outselling HD two to one. Who cares if the hardware is dirt cheap if no one is buying the software for it?

www.digitalbits.com as one of my sources.

Is it that you've already invested in HD so HD is better? For the record I've bought neither. I'm still on the fence and haven't picked either. But everything I've read leans far to the BR camp.

So...make the case for HD. Why should I pick it?

It was fine to start with but then the picture and sound started to jump and flash. I turned the programme off but it continued to do it. The rest of the tv is fine, video and freeview is fine. I unplugged a yellow cable - this made the sound fine again but no picture. Plugging it back in made both sound and picture jump. Any ideas? Is it the cable or the tv or the dvd player?

I watched a show on Oprah, and I understood that engery is still used. They recommended using something called a smart strip which you would plug your cords in and then turn everything off with one switch. Is this any different than a normal power strip?

I had 4 AA batteries in a shower radio and when I opened it to replace the batteries there was a white discharge on the batteries and inside of the battery area. I removed them and cleaned up most of the crusty white substance from the battery slots on the radio (but not all of it; I was nervous to touch any of it). But is it dangerous that I touched the white discharge? Is it dangerous that I replaced the old batteries and continue to use the radio?
Just how hazardous is that white substance?
