I place the disc in the tray and it either immediately says "no disc" or it goes on and on loading. Eventually it will finally load. Is there soimething I can clean inside the player to make it read the disc.? It keeps getting slower . I have cleaned the discs.

You can find a laser cleaner (kind of like old VCR head cleaners.) It is a DVD like disc with little brushes on it. Or the player may be getting old. Goodluck.

The optical pickup lens may be dirty. Try a cleaning disc. If this does not help, the optic pickup is probably at the end of it's life. Most DVD players last 1-2 years with frequent use.

the laser is dirty, but don't get one of those cleaners with the little brush. I have replaced lasers in players that have used them. You need to carefully take it apart, dip a cotton swab in alcohol, or lens cleaner (even better) and gently clean the lens.

there are cleaner discs that have small brushes on them. It sounds like you're getting some dust on the laser

In this case cleaning is not a solution. Your lens becomes weaker and soon it will be shutdown. You better consult a technician before it becomes worst.
