You will get better sound and it will be more crisp and all that good stuff. But if you`re doing it for recording. Look lets cut the crap..you're trying to record an album on a cheap mic and it sounds bad. Ok well...buy a good mic on the internet their expensive though. like 200 - 1,000 dollars. Or you can get a walmart one... :-) for like 10 to 40 dollars. and you need a sound proof room to get the best out of your mic...good luck!

Well it depends, if you have a good voice and are using a cheap mic it might give you poor sound quality which may make the vocals sound bad.

If you have a bad voice, no matter how expensive the mic, it is not gonna make your voice better. What may cover up some of the vocals would be adding reverb, chorus, and other effects using effects processors (digitech v300 and vx400 are examples of these).

If you have confidence in your voice, and think that the mic may be what makes you sound a little flat or off, getting a better mic would be your best bet.

you don't need to spend a lot for a decent mic. Goto Musiciansfriend.com and check out some of the user reviews.

Two of the top mics will be Shure 58 and Berhinger xm8500. The shure costs upwards of 100 the berhinger is around 20.However the Berhinger is of great quality and easily comparable to the shure.

I havn't used Shure, but I am not upset with my behringer at all.

Is there a difference between a VW beatle and a Porsche? Buy a decent microphone, Shure SM-58 is one of the industry standards. If you are serious, a good mic is essential. Here is a link you might check out.
