I have two computers, i heard that if you plug your ipod into one computer and upload/download all the songs, then plug it into another the ipod will delete all of the memory/songs on it. this to prevent people from going to friends houses and getting there songs without paying for them. is this true?

I have a DVD player which I bought 2nd hand. I have found that it will not work properly on my TV, but when checking it at a technician was told that the lazer head was not good. I took back the DVD to the person I got it from who in turn took it back to the shop. They both checked the DVD and found that it was working OK. I myself went back to the person and checked it on his TV and it worked great. I get the picture, but it is distorted like it is dirty. On the persons TV that I bought it from the picture was crystal clear. I am at a loss what to do as the technician says it is not good and the shop together with the person who sold it 2nd hand say it works and I have even seen it work myself.
I am at a total loss, not only am I out of pocket, I dont have a machine that will work on myh TV.

Not the non-removable ones but the ones that come with most new electrical goods to keep the wires tidy. The are kind of like plastic pipe cleaners. (UK)

Recently i bought a portable expresso machine. The water tank in the machine is made of plastic and I am wondering if the plastic is durable enough when water is heated. Will the plastic be bad for people's health?

On a few stations (both HD and standard), I get a row of blocks that appear suddenly, then disappear just as quickly. This seems to happen when scenes start changing quickly, especially movie previews. This also happens on some stations only...I've never seen it happen on HDHBO, HD Discovery Theater, and ESPN HD (thank God).

Any HD guru out there have an explanation of this?
Thanks!

Lets say I have a radio that is operated by batteries, it is not turned on, yet it will turn itself on and off whenever it wants to. Another example is a child toy, again not turned on, battery operated, and it comes on and goes off by itself from time to time... is it because the batteries are going bad or would something else be the problem?

We have asked several technicians, who tell us it does not interfere. But, how do I know if they are experts. Could someone please help. We live in a mountain area and we can't get tv reception unless we have satellite tv or cable.

I'm looking for a timer, an "hour meter" if you will, that will automatically time my playing of a digital piano. It could work on the headphone output, so that when it detects audio it starts counting, and after the audio stops it stops after a small delay. It would need to be completely automatic - no "push start" or "push stop" (I could use a plain stopwatch for that). This way I could know exactly how long I've been practicing/playing.

Something equivalent to this, only triggered by audio: http://pitposse.com/hourmeter.html?OVRAW=hour%20meter&OVKEY=hour%20meter&OVMTC=standard

I've tried searches for "audio timers", "appliance hour meters", etc. and so far no luck.

If you're electronically inclinded, seems like a 555 timer attached to a counter/display thing would work. I considered making a 555 one-shot and have the output drive a relay that was wired into a standard cheap stopwatch... hmmm.

Help?

One is just called a "bass combo" amp and the other is called an "aluminum cone bass combo", and the aluminum cone amp is $20 more. I didn't see any other difference. What does the aluminum cone do, and is it worth the $20?
